On Wednesday, November 2, the Des Moines metro area was rocked by a tragedy that we will never forget when Des Moines police Sgt. Anthony “Tony” Beminio and Urbandale Officer Justin Martin were killed in the line of duty. Although time has passed, we remember the service and dedication these men and our local police force have given our community. To honor Sgt. Beminio and Officer Martin, The Picker Knows will be holding a benefit auction on Friday, December 16, to support the families of these fallen officers, and all of the proceeds gathered from the auction will be given to the families.
On Friday, December 16, The Picker Knows will be hosting a no reserve benefit auction at in West Des Moines. Doors will open at 5pm and the auction will begin at 6:30pm.
Antiques and collectibles that will be featured in the auction include:
These have been gathered and purchased from all across the Midwest for this event, and many of these items are one-of-a-kind! Some of our vendors have even donated their collectibles to include in the auction!
As an added bonus, we have partnered with a number of the Decade Event Center suppliers to provide our guests with complimentary food as well as an open bar. Donations for food and beverage are encouraged and will go toward the families’ fund.
All proceeds made from the auction and donations will go toward Des Moines Police Officer’s Credit Union bereavement fund to be given to the families of Sgt. Beminio and Officer Martin.
Vendors, patrons, and members of the Des Moines community are all welcome to join us for this great cause. Be sure to bring your friends and family! Please RSVP to the Fallen Heroes Benefit Auction if you plan to attend, and follow us on Facebook to learn more about event details and updates as we get closer to the auction!
